In Animal Crossing, one of the major things you will end up finding yourself doing is chasing down bugs! If you're looking to catch and collect these creepy-crawlies, then you're going to need get or craft a bug net! Never fear, because we've got the information you'll need on how to get the bug net in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

Collecting bugs is a fun way to spend some of your time in Animal Crossing! You can collect them, or you can sell them which is a pretty profitable way to make some bells. Either way, you're going to want to get yourself a bug net at some point so let's take a look at how to do that.

How to Craft a Bug Net

If you're looking to try your hand at crafting, then it's possible to create a bug net from some wood! You will just need to go around your island shaking trees to obtain tree branches. You will need five of these, so make sure to shake all the trees you come across. Be careful though, if you shake the wrong tree you might find yourself being chased by wasps! Once you have your branches, head on over to Resident Services and select the crafting bench that is very close to Tom Nook. Look for the bug net option, and use your tree branches to create your very own bug catcher! If you don't have this option yet, talk to Tom Nook and take his DIY course to learn how to craft things!

How to Buy a Bug Net

If you don't want to spend your time shaking trees and crafting things then you do have another option for obtain the bug net! Once you've collected a decent amount of bells, you can go over to Nook's Cranny and speak with Timmy and Tommy who have set up a shop at this location. They sell some tools, so you can grab yourself a net from them if yours has broken and you don't want to spend time obtaining the materials to craft another one! If you're fairly deep in the game, this might become the more practical option since you should have a ton of bells at your disposal.
