Where to find Manila Clams in Animal Crossing

Manila Clams only spawn on the beaches of your island. They can be found at any time of day during any season, so you can collect them whenever you want. Start by strolling up and down the beaches until you see a dark spot form in the sand. When you see water spray out of it, you'll know you've found a clam!

To gather it, you'll need to equip a shovel. Position yourself in front of the dark spot facing towards it.

Next, press the "A" button to dig directly on top of where the dark spot was.

That's really all there is to it! Now you have your very own Manila Clam. It cannot be donated to the museum, but it can be used in a few recipes.

Manila Clam Uses in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Manila Clams are used as an ingredient in four different recipes. They can be sold separately for 100 bells, but their recipes sell for much more so it's better to save them for crafting.

Fish Bait

The main use of Manila Clams is that they are the sole ingredient needed to craft Fish Bait. Throwing Fish Bait into any body of water will cause a fish to immediately appear. It can be sold for 200 bells. The recipe is unlocked after players dig up their first Manila Clam.

Clam Chowder

Combining three Manila Claims with one bag of Flour will create one serving of Clam Chowder. It provides players with five energy points and can be sold for 9,800 bells. This recipe can be unlocked on Turkey Day by giving Franklin all four secret ingredients. It can also be purchased in the Turkey Day Recipes pack alongside the three other Turkey Day recipes. The pack can be purchased from the cabinet in Nook's Cranny from the day after Turkey Day until November 30th.

Seafood Pizza

The recipe for Seafood Pizza requires two Manila Clams, one Tiger Prawn, and three bags of Flour. Eating it gives the player five energy points, but it can also be sold for 4,600 bells. This recipe can be obtained from multiple places—the villagers on a player's island, a recipe in a bottle, or by talking to the head chef of the restaurant in the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

Pesce All'acqua Pazza

To craft Pesce All'acqua Pazza, you must combine one Manila Clam with one Red Snapper and one Tomato. Pesce All'acqua Pazza gives players five energy points when eaten and can be sold for 4,140 bells. This recipe unlocks when the player catches a Red Snapper.
