Turnips. One of the most coveted items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. They are basically the stocks of this fictional world, and they only stay good for one calendar week between each Sunday. It used to be that the only way to get Turnips was from Daisy Mae on Sunday mornings. However, in the Happy Home Paradise DLC, you can also get Turnips from Joan, Daisy Mae’s grandmother. Here is how to get Turnips in the Happy Home Paradise archipelago.
Building the Hospital
For Joan to show up on your archipelago, you must have built the Hospital facility. It does not need to be expanded to get Joan; the base Hospital is enough. Like Daisy Mae, Joan will show up once a week. The hospital facility has a waiting room where Joan can be found every Monday for her weekly checkup, rather than on Sundays.

Getting Turnips from Joan
The main difference between buying Turnips from Daisy Mae, and getting them from Joan, is that Joan gives you Turnips for free, no charge. They are also given to you in a set amount. You will always receive 30 Turnips from Joan, and you cannot buy more. Unlike Daisy Mae, Joan will be there all day on Mondays, so no need to wake up early.
