Wildlife had been a small part of Apex Legends for a long time, from the flyers on Olympus, to the Prowlers in Bloodhound’s Trials. It was the Storm Point map, released in Season 11: Escape, though, that really gave Wildlife and PvE elements in the game a place to thrive. That said, any player can tell you that while killing Spiders or Flyers on Storm Point was fun, Prowlers were a hassle. They were just too strong. Thankfully, in Season 12: Defiance, the Prowlers have received a huge nerf.

Prowler Changes for Season 12
- [Nerf ↓] Prowler damage now only 20 (formerly 30)
- [Change ↔] Knockback force reduced
- [Change ↔] Clearing a Prowler Nest is now worth 150 Crafting Materials (formerly 90)
- The Forbidden Zones large nest is now worth 250, split between all nearby players regardless of squad
- [Change ↔] Updated Wildlife targeting to be less random
- [Nerf ↓] Prowlers now have a targeting cap
- No more than 3 Prowlers can target a player at one given time
- [Nerf ↓] Prowlers will no longer spawn when multiple teams are in the same nest
- This does not include the Forbidden Zones large nest
- [Nerf ↓] Outside of the Ring, Prowlers have been subdued
- If not engaged in combat, they will remain neutral and not attack players
- Prowler Dens will not spawn Prowlers outside of the Ring if it has not already been engaged
- [Nerf ↓] Only 2 Wandering Prowlers will be walking around outside of the passive small nests (formerly 3)
- Wander Radius has also been halved while passive, returns to prior while in combat
- [Nerf ↓] Nests can now be cleared out faster
- [Change ↔] Slight increase on chance to drop Shield Batteries, Med Kits, and Phoenix Kits
- This change will also affect Flyers and Spiders
- [Change ↔] Final Rings will no longer fall on Prowler Dens
In Season 12: Defiance, Prowlers are only found on Storm Point, as World’s Edge is out of rotation. Storm Point joined the Season 12 map rotation on Feb. 15.
