Gasoline is required to power several late-game utilities like the Industrial Grill and Chemistry Bench; it is also one of the best fuel sources in Ark. That said, how do you make it? Well, in this guide, we will explain just that and more.
How to make Gasoline
In short, to make Gasoline you will need to place six oil and five hides in a Refining or Industrial forge. After 30 seconds, the forge will make the Gasoline, which can then be used to power the following structures and items below.Â
- Electrical Generator
- Industrial Grill
- Motorboat
- Chemistry Bench
- Zip-Line Motor Attachment
- Industrial Grinder
- Zip-Line
- Fabricator
- Mining Drill
- Chainsaw
Overall, making Gasoline is relatively straightforward but if you don't have the required resources to make them, here is how to get all of them.
How to get Hides
To get hides, all you need to do is find a suitable dinosaur or creature, kill it and harvest it using the appropriate tool, such as chainsaws, and hatchets. You can also use tamed creatures to harvest dead dinos for hides with much greater efficiency; the following below are the ideal tamed creatures for this job.
- Direwolf
- Sabertooth
- Therizinosaur
How to get Oil
Getting oil is vastly different from the previous resource; this is because the primary source for it, depending on server conditions, is from underwater and surface nodes. However, you can get oil depending on the map from surface nodes in specific locations, and for these events, you will need to use a pick. As for the underwater nodes, you will need a good aquatic creature to get near the nodes so you can mine them. See our Oil guide for more on how to get Oil.
