Armored Core 6 is quite linear in the first two chapters, but in Chapter 3, certain mission choices start to appear. This made me investigate how much impact choices have in the story unfolding and the game's ending, so if you need help making the right decisions in Chapter 3 of Armored Core 6, read on!
Should you Eliminate the Enforcement Squads or Destroy the Special Forces Craft in AC6?
Once you reach Chapter 3 in Armored Core 6, you will be presented with a non-linear mission selection, and depending on your choice, the story patch will branch outward. These are called Decision Missions and are marked with a characteristic icon of branching paths in the top right corner of the mission key. The symbol reminded me of the USB marking, so you should notice it easily.
Depending on your choice, you will get one of three potential endings of Armored Core 6.
- Eliminate the Enforcement Squads mission: This mission is much harder than its counterpart, and you must complete it without using a single checkpoint, which means you can't die. It requires a top-notch mech build suited for the mission and careful usage of repair kits throughout. This mission branches out, so you can reach both the True good and Bad endings in AC6.
- Destroy the Special Forces Craft mission: This sortie is much easier than the first choice. As a downside, it will net you far less reward money, but you will be able to complete it quickly, leading you down a path to a Good ending.
The decision-making continues as the story branches out further; you will have further choices in both Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 later in the game.
