Ice to meet you.

Traveling through a robot apocalypse in any timeline isn't easy. However, Atomic Heart isn't about to leave players out in the weeds. With a host of weapon customization options available to players, it all comes down to what players would like to use and what is most effective at the moment. Of course, some stand out and players will want to use them more in a variety of ways. That's where Cartridges come into play.

How to use Cartridges in Atomic Heart

Cartridges add elemental effects to weapons. These come in your standard varieties like fire, ice, and electric Cartridges. However, before equipping a Cartridge, players must have purchased the Cartridge upgrade and have a Cartridge in their inventory. Cartridges must then be crafted after tracking down their respective recipes from the various large chests.

Once those requirements have been met, players will then need to hold the reload button: Square (PS5), X (Xbox), R (PC). This will open up the weapon wheel. Move the cursor over the bottom center icon on the weapon wheel and press the right trigger (console) or left click (PC). Select the Cartridge you'd like and let go of the button to slot the Cartridge into your weapon. Congrats! You now have elemental attacks until that Cartridge runs out of juice. Now to handle the more pressing issue of how to jump.
