The compass in action in Axiom Verge 2

How to use the Compass (Lapiz Lazuli) in Axiom Verge 2

It doesn't tell you where you are, but where other things are.

Axiom Verge 2 can leave a lot to be desired in terms of figuring out how the tools work. Many players certainly find confusion in understanding one of the first tools, the Lapiz Lazuli compass. The good news is that there is an easy way to interpret it, which we explain below.

There are essentially two different things to look out for when you're looking at the compass: a blue light and a red light. If you see a blue light start to form, it means you're getting close to an urn or a special object. If you see a red light begin to form, it means you are getting close to a red portal. An example of both of these can be seen in the image below on the left.

At first, the red and blue lights will appear spread out on the compass and will drift to one direction. This indicates that there is an object nearby in the direction that the light is facing. As you get closer to it, the lights will become more bright and narrow. Think of the compass less as a compass, and more like a radar. The signal becomes stronger and more defined as you get closer to the object. An example of what the compass looks like when you're close to the object is shown in the image above on the right.

That sums up the quick rundown of how the compass operates. Now you're ready to find those hidden objects!
