How to parry in Bleak Faith Forsaken

I still prefer dual wielding though.

Parrying in Bleak Faith: Forsaken is simple, but it will restrict the use of dual wielding or weapons that require two hands. All one handed weapons can be identified in the Equipment menu and a shield can be equipped in the offhand to parry. The parry window is pretty generous and a riposte can be performed with the right timing. This is how to parry in Bleak Faith: Forsaken.

How to parry in Bleak Faith Forsaken

In order to parry, players will have to equip a shield to their offhand by going to their Equipment menu on the Inventory screen. Shields can only be used with one handed weapons and the parry can be performed by pressing the block button twice. The controls for this are R2 on PlayStation controllers, RT on Xbox controllers, and Right Click/M2 on PC. The timing for a parry depends on the swing of the weapon from whatever enemy the player is fighting. For larger enemies, their attacks won't be able to be parried, but for most common enemies that use weapons, they will be able to parried as they end their swing.

When to swing for combos in Bleak Faith Forsaken

To continue swinging weapons in Bleak Faith: Forsaken, players will need to time their attacks as the arc of their attack is still on the screen. Without timing the attack, each swing will be relatively slow and consume more stamina. While weapons have different swing patterns, some will share the same speed. As long as players press the attack button toward the end of their swing, they will be able to continually swing faster and faster in a combo. These don't always have to be perfect, but if the attack button is pressed when the arc isn't still on screen, the character can pause a bit between swings and use up much more stamina.
