Blue Archive has a lot of characters, so a tier list is an important tool which tells you the characters you should be looking out for.
Not all characters in the game are worth your time and effort. Banner pulls are costly, so you need to make the most of what you got with you. With the latest Steam release update, the meta has shifted slightly, so here's a tier list where all the characters in Blue Archive are ranked.
Ranked Tier List for All Blue Archive Characters
The game contains close to 200 characters, so the choice can be really daunting. Below, we’ve listed out around 40 characters that are relevant to the meta and have ranked them in a tier list based on how they perform across all the different content that Blue Archive has to offer.
Rank | Character |
---|---|
S | Iori, Haruna, Koharu, Ako, Kisaki, Tsubaki |
A | Aris, Moimoi, Midori, Hina, Serina, Kokona, Ui, Sena, Kotama, Atsuko, Marina, Yuuka, Hoshino |
B | Serika, Azusa, Chise, Hanako, Hanae, Fuuka, Reijo, Hifumi, Iroha, Eimi, Haruka, Natsu |
C | Minori, Neru, Tsurugi, Ayane, Tomoe, Kirara, Pina, Izuma, Hasuna, Asumi |
Best S Tier Characters to Use in Blue Archive
The characters here are the best of the best, and perform well not just in endgame PvE activities, but in Blue Archive PvP activities too.
Character | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
Iori | + One of the best single target DPS characters in the game. + Is an absolute powerhouse during raids. |
Haruna | + One of the easiest characters, with a very gentle learning curve. + Can carry you through most PvE and PvP games easily, especially during early to mid game. |
Koharu | + AoE damage dealer, doubles up as a healer too. + She’s a core unit up until your late game stages, and will flourish well under most circumstances. |
Ako | + Lacks damage dealing ability, but is a top-tier support character. + Can help your allies dismantle enemy bosses within minutes. |
Kisaki | + Best PvP character in the game so far. + Acts as a hard counter to many other units in the game. |
Tsubaki | + High survivability makes her one of the best Tanks in the game. - Dodge mechanic is absolutely busted in PvP, and can easily terrorize the enemy. |
Top A Tier Characters That You Shouldn’t Ignore
The characters in this tier will help you complete most endgame content in Blue Archive, but they have a few drawbacks compared to their S-tier counterparts.
Character | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
Aris | + High piercing-type single target damage. - Needs proper placement to excel. |
Moimoi | + Excellent attacker with AoE damage attacks. - Can’t keep up with endgame bosses. |
Midori | + Has good piercing damage, and has perfect synergy with Moimoi. - Slightly squishy, and tends to become situational in late game stages. |
Hina | + Can literally nuke the enemy, and can wipe out waves of mobs easily. - Positioning can be a little difficult in tight maps. |
Serina | + Best budget healer in Blue Archive. - Can heal only single targets. |
Kokona | + Has strong healing and a good defense utility, making her a necessary addition to a team. - Slightly difficult to use in endgame Raids. |
Ui | + Best used in teams alongside Iori because she drastically reduces EX skill cost. - Has low damage output. |
Sena | + Amazing support unit, and makes a good addition to any defensive team compositions. - Can do everything decently, but doesn’t excel at anything in particular. |
Kotama | + Best core support unit during the early-game stages. - Can’t perform that well in Raids and other endgame activities. |
Atsuko | + Flexible healer with strong EX recovery, allowing you to spam EX skills continuously. - Best in budget comps only, loses out the edge in endgame activities. |
Marina | + Amazing PvP tank, and can survive easily. - Tsubaki exists. |
Yuuka | + Can easily keep physical attackers at bay. - Skill set tailored for PvP, so slightly underperforms in PvE activities. |
Hoshino | + Amazing tank/DPS hybrid, especially during early to mid game. - Falls short on survivability in difficult content. |

B Tier Characters That Can Help You Get a Hang of Blue Archive
The characters in this tier aren’t exactly bad, but they aren’t that great either. The most that they can do is get you through the early game stages in Blue Archive and that’s about it. You can use them, but don’t expect top tier performance.
Character | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
Serika | + Very easy to create a build during the early game. - Cannot be used in raids at all. |
Azusa | + Decent burst DPS. - Cannot shine without a proper composition that supports her playstyle. |
Chise | + Useful in indoor maps only. - Damage output is inconsistent. |
Hanako | + Low cost healer, tailored for budget compositions. - AoE heals are weak. |
Hanae | + Works well with DPS-heavy teams. - Can barely hold her own in raids. |
Fuuka | + Works well in tactical stages. - Very niche utility, and you need to build into it considerably. |
Reijo | + Useful in very specific PvP comps. - Extremely situational skillset. |
Hifumi | + Decent support. - Poor damage output. |
Iroha | + Has good AoE damage dealing abilities. - Very expensive to maintain on the battlefield. |
Eimi | + Can regen and self-buff effectively. - Scales poorly with difficulty. |
Haruka | + Decent tank with moderate survivability. - Easily outclassed by other tanks in the game. |
Natsu | + Decent sustain unit. - Niche pick because she isn’t optimal in the healing or in the tank role. |
C Tier Characters That You Should Be Avoiding At All Costs
The Blue Archive characters in this tier are filler characters at best, and you should only go after them if you’re looking to complete your collection. You can use them in team compositions in the game if you’re going through the causal modes, but don’t even think of taking them into endgame activities, or PvP matches.
Character | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
Minori | - Scales very poorly across power levels. - Weak survivability and damage output. |
Neru | - Very squishy and unreliable in almost every PvE activity. - Easily outclassed by most units. |
Tsurugi | - Inconsistent damage output. - Extremely squishy. |
Ayane | - Weak in every aspect. - Cannot be used in raids nor in PvP activities. |
Tomoe | - Very low stats. - Animations are slow, making her a squishy unit. |
Kirara | - Weak healing and support skills. - Can’t effectively perform any role whatsoever. |
Pina | - Low damage makes her a niche pick. - Squishy character. |
Izuma | - Weak stats. - Needs impeccable positioning to function properly. |
Hasuna | - Easily outclassed by other units in the game. - Stat spread is weird, so overall output is low. |
Asumi | - Despite being a support, it lacks proper healing or other utilities. - Cannot excel even with proper positioning. |
How to Reroll in Blue Archive

Given that Blue Archive is a gacha game, acquiring characters heavily depends on your luck. So, in case you’re not happy with the characters that you have, you can always reroll for a better shot. Here’s what you need to do:
- After logging in, complete the entire tutorial section.
- Avoid linking any account just yet, because if you do this, you’ll lock in your choices for good.
- As you play through the tutorial, you receive a lot of free rolls which you can dump in multiple available banners.
- Once you’ve exhausted the rolls, check the characters that you’ve received.
- Now, head back to the main menu, and click on the grid in the top right corner and then hit “Account.”
- If you’re happy with the Blue Archive characters you’ve received, then hit the “Link Account” button. If you’re not happy with them, hit the “Reset Account” option.
The option to reset your account is valid only until you’ve not linked your account. If you’ve linked your account and then reset it, you won’t get fresh pulls anymore. Additionally, if you’ve reset your account before linking it, you’ll still have to play through the tutorial section all over again.
