All maps in Modern Warfare 3 Beta, Ranked (MW3)

Make sure to play these maps.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 brought the beta to PlayStation 5 first, meaning I was one of the first to experience the game. With my time in the beta, I quickly discovered I enjoyed some maps more than others. Here are the best maps in the MW3 Beta and Modern Warfare 3 Beta.

At the time of writing, there were only four maps in the Mosh Pit game mode and one in Ground War. I was able to play each map extensively in Mosh Pit, where most of the action was. I also spent time in Ground War trying to score kills with the APC. Here are the best maps ranked in MW3 Beta and Modern Warfare 3 Beta.

Best Mosh Pit and Cutthroat maps in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)

Highrise
  1. Rust
  2. Highrise
  3. Skidrow
  4. Favela
  5. Estate

While there are four maps available in the MW3 Beta, I enjoyed Rust the most. It was a throwback to Modern Warfare 2, and I love the tight quarters and layout. Rust ensures the action is fast-paced, intense, and requires checking every direction. It also has good elevation with a risk vs. reward if you can make it up top.

Highrise takes the second favorite spot, and it's a blast from the past. I enjoy the two spawn sides and the forced conflict in the center. It features raised platforms and a lower area, providing diverse engagments. Rust just beat Highrise as my favorite map, but it's certainly close.

My next favorite map is Skidrow. The map provides both wide open areas and tight corridors, making all weapon types effective. There were few positions where a single player could post up and be unkillable. Skidrow seemed to be a fan favorite, as it was the map I played the most during the beta.

Favela was my next favorite, playing similarly to Skidrow but with more density. With numerous rooftops and ways to gain verticality, I was constantly looking up. While there were some open areas, most paths in Favela were tight and required me to check every corner before proceeding. As a result, I favored SMGs and shotguns here.

Estate was my least favorite map of the three beta maps. It was also the map I played the least, often getting no votes when it was available. My issue with Estate is it was too large and wide open, making it easy to get picked off when moving around the map. I like the idea and theme; I just wish Estate had a bit more tight level design.

  1. Popov Power

Popov Power is the only map in rotation for Ground War during the beta. I only had a few matches on this map, but I prefer the Most Pit playlist to this one. With more maps being added, I'll spend more time in Ground War. For now, I was not impressed with Popov Power, so I'd rank it pretty low.
