The meta in Call of Duty Warzone keeps shifting and evolving with every new update. Weapon balancing patches pushed by Raven Software via Seasonal and weekly updates ensure that the game feels fresh to players.
Here we rank the best Assault Rifles (AR) in Warzone Season 6. Although there are numerous ARs in the game, we have hand-picked the ones you should prefer using right now. The following list contains the five best ARs followed by some honorable mentions.
1. EM2
- Tag - The king - 'Best EM2 Loadout'
- Pros - Very fast time-to-kill (TTK), very high damage output, fast reload speed
- Cons - Slow aim-down-sight (ADS) speed, slow fire rate, high recoil
- Fire rate is not necessarily a con considering the EM2's high damage output as it keeps the weapon balanced. However, a slow rate of fire makes the gun less forgiving if you miss your shots.
- Usage Scenario - Long range and sniper support
The EM2 is undoubtedly the best AR in Warzone right now. Everyone from professional to casual players is using it. But the weapon requires considerable skill and is not so easy to use.
2. Cold War AK-47
- Tag - Most versatile - 'Best AK 47 Loadout'
- Pros - Fast TTK, high damage output, good mobility
- Cons - Irregular horizontal recoil pattern, mediocre fire rate
- Usage Scenario - Long range, close range, and sniper support
You can never go wrong with the Cold War AK-47 in any usage case. It has been one of the best ARs for a long time. If you are uncomfortable with the recoil control and slow fire rate of the EM2, give this weapon a try.
3. XM4
- Tag - Perfectly balanced - 'Best XM4 Loadout'
- Pros - Fast TTK, good damage output, great mobility for an AR, easy-to-control recoil, high fire rate
- Cons - Overall damage and TTK are slightly worse than AK-47 and EM2
- Usage Scenario - Long range, close range, and sniper support
The XM4 has everything a competitive AR needs in Call of Duty Warzone. The fast fire rate, controllable recoil, and high damage output makes it extremely feasible.
4. GRAU 5.56
- Tag - Accuracy at its best - 'Best Grau Loadout'
- Pros - Lowest recoil (some call it "zero" recoil), high fire rate, good TTK
- Cons - mediocre damage output
- Usage Scenario - Long range (and maybe sniper support, if you can manage it).
When it comes to the absolute lowest-recoil weapon, Grau is the first weapon that comes to mind. Although it doesn't have a high damage output, players never stopped using it thanks to its high accuracy. Moreover, after the weapon balancing patch in Warzone, it has reclaimed its spot in the top AR category.
5. AS VAL
- Tag - Close-quarters dominator - 'Best AS VAL Loadout'
- Pros - Fastest TTK, very high fire rate, great mobility, great damage output
- Cons - Low ammo capacity, poor range, mediocre accuracy
- Usage Scenario - Close range and sniper support
For starters, nothing can beat the AS VAL in terms of TTK. It has stayed the fastest-killing weapon in Warzone (not including snipers, as they have an effective TTK of 0ms). However, the AS VAL is only viable as an SMG.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Although you can use any weapon that you like in Warzone, the ones shown above are the finest. That said, here are some other good AR options—FARA 83, C58, QBZ-83, AMAX, M4A1, Oden, and FAL.
