Frost Bite MW3 Zombies Mission Guide – How to freeze Mimics with Frost Blast

In Act 2 of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, the Frost Bite Tier 5 mission asks you to use the Frost Blast field upgrade to freeze several Zombies. One of the objectives is to freeze Special Zombies called Mimics, and in this guide, you'll find exactly how to do that.

Complete the following challenges of the Frost Bite mission to unlock a 2XP Token:

• Freeze 50 Zombies with Frost Blast field upgrade.
• Freeze 5 Mimics with Frost Blast field upgrade.

How to use the Frost Blast field upgrade in MW3 Zombies

First of all, make sure to equip Frost Blast as your field upgrade by editing your gear before starting an MWZ match. This equipment has a medium recharge rate, which means it can be acquired faster than its counterparts such as Healing Aura. To recharge Frost Blast, simply get Zombie kills and never miss a Full Power power-up (second image) as it instantly replenishes the field upgrade.

Use the field upgrade by pressing X on a keyboard, L1+R1 on a PlayStation controller, or LB+RB on an Xbox controller. Do this when you're surrounded by a horde of Zombies because you have to freeze 50 of them. Make sure to stand very close to the enemies before activating Frost Blast so a lot are affected simultaneously.

How to freeze Mimics with Frost Blast field upgrade MWZ

Now comes the crucial part of the Frost Bite mission—freezing five Mimics. These are Special Zombies marked with a skull icon and you can see how I froze one using Frost Blast in the image above. It's simple, just use the equipment in close proximity to the beast, but the tricky part is finding. Fret not as I have just the information for you below.

These are the two really easy and effective ways to find Mimics to freeze with the Frost Blast field upgrade in MW3 Zombies:

• Eliminate The Bounty Contract: Marked by a crosshair icon as shown in the first image, Big Bounty contracts in the Low Threat Zone will most likely mark a nearby Mimic target for you. In case you're given a Mangler to kill, just cancel the contract and move to the next closest one.
• Infested Stronghold: These gas-infested buildings can be found all around the map and you can see its map legend in the second image. The objective here is to destroy the yellow cysts inside, but you just need to scour the area for any hidden Mimic. Each Infested Stronghold has one Mimic for you to freeze, but beware of its surprise attack.
