MW3 Zombies Freezer Burn Mission guide

In MW3 Zombies, Freezer Burn is a Tier 3 story mission that requires you to eliminate several zombies and hellhounds with a specific ammunition mod. Below, you'll find all the steps you need to complete for this mission.

Freezer Burn mission walkthrough in MW3 Zombies

Freezer Burn is a Tier 3 mission for Welcome to Operation Deadbolt in Act One of MW3 Zombies. This mission has two objectives as listed below, but it can be tricky if you don't know where to look for ammo modifications.

• Slow 50 Zombies with Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod
• Slow 10 Hellhounds with Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod

The Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod is an item you can find on the map by looting caches and by completing different activities. The easiest method to obtain this modification is to capture Aether Nests and Infested Strongholds. Most often you'll find that the loot crate rewards inside these builds have unique ammo modifications.

You can also obtain the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod by completing story missions like Take Up Arms. Similarly, finding a Schematic for this modification allows you to craft it in the lobby. Schematics are tougher to find, and I highly recommend completing contracts and infiltrating Strongholds and Aether Nests in the yellow and red threat zones. After finding the ammo modification, use it from your inventory to apply the effect on a preferred weapon.

Where to find Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies

Eliminating 50 zombies is the easiest objective for this mission, as you can do this anywhere around the map and kill any type of zombie. I recommend going to an Exfil Point and calling for a chopper, as this allows you to spawn a lot of zombies at once. However, finding Hellhounds can be a tricky task, and they may not spawn in high enough numbers at the Exfil Point. Luckily, I've identified a few locations you can visit to find Hellhounds more easily.

Ideally, you want to look for Hellhounds in the yellow threat zone on the MW3 Zombies map. I recommend exploring the fringes of the yellow zone, especially if you don't have a Pack-a-Punch upgraded weapon. Visit POIs like Urzkistan Cargo (sector E4), Popov Power (sector F2), Zaravan Suburbs (sector F6), and Zaravan City (sector D6) to find Hellhounds easily.

Keep your distance from the Hellhounds while shooting at them as they explode with fiery damage. The second objective for the Freezer Burn is completed after you slow 10 Hellhounds with the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod equipped. You'll be rewarded with the Baseball Fan Calling Card, and +1500 XP for completing this mission.
