When is the Warzone 2 playlist updated?
The playlist update for Warzone 2 is scheduled to drop every Wednesday at 10am PT. The standard and resurgence variants of the Battle Royale are kept in every update with some changes to the squad sizes available. On top of that, the newly introduced and limited-time modes (LTMs) are added to the rotation. These regular updates by the developers try to keep things fresh for the community.
All Warzone 2 modes, explained
Standard Battle Royale
The Standard Battle Royale mode is the traditional Warzone experience on the large-scale Al Mazrah map. 150 players deploy into the battlefield with a default handgun, scavenge for supplies, and fight to be the last person or team standing. The lethal gas closes in as the circle collapses and shrinks the battle zone.
Plunder
Plunder is a redeployment-enabled, non-Battle Royale game mode in which players compete against each other for cash. The team with the most amount of cash at the end of the timer or the first team to reach $2 million cash wins the game. If you want to level up your guns outside of MW2 Multiplayer, I recommend trying out this mode.
Resurgence
Resurgence is a game mode that incorporates the redeployment feature that allows players to respawn back after a short countdown given there's at least one alive team member. First introduced with the Rebirth Island map of the original Warzone, this mode is currently played on Ashika Island. This small-scale map with a player count of 52 provides a fast-paced, action-packed BR experience.
Massive Resurgence
Massive Resurgence is an expanded version of the regular Resurgence with the same redeployment mechanic. The battle takes place on the large-scale Al Mazrah map with 150 players.
Mini-Royale
Mini-Royale takes all the elements of the Standard Battle Royale, but the area of Al Mazrah you're allowed to deploy into is reduced significantly. This feature shortens the match duration and ensures that you're always fighting your opponents.
Unhinged Battle Royale
Unhinged BR is a variation of the Standard Battle Royale mode in which you can team up with enemy players using the Assimilation feature. A maximum of six players are allowed per team. Make proper use of the ping wheel and proximity chat to invite other players to join you.
