How to 3-Star Beast King Challenge in Clash of Clans

Enter Beast Mode!

Free-to-play mobile strategy game Clash of clans has been a huge hit, largely thanks to its ability to stay at the top of its game through continuous new content rollouts. Players build up their clan base by training up new troops, and heroes, and building new constructions to support their growth, then go out and attack their neighbors to help bolster their wealth. But limited-time challenges freshen things up with limited troops and a set goal, asking players to beat the clock to gain one-time rewards. Below we’ll discuss how to three-star the Beast King Challenge in Clash of clans.

Start by opening the News tab (bottom right, next to the Shop button) and clicking the Events tab. If it is still running, the Beast King Challenge will be at the top of the list. Simply click Attack to begin. To get the full rewards you’ll need to complete the event with three stars to gain a Builder Potion and 400XP. Once you press Attack, you’ll have three minutes to complete the challenge. But the clock won’t start until you deploy your first troop, so don’t panic. Before you begin, make sure the Grand Warden is on the Grounded Attack setting. Now you’re set up to win.

Start by dropping four Sneaky Goblins into the center of the map to the left of the marked area (1), who will go to town on the Clan Castle, taking it down and stopping its ability to unleash Archers. With the Castle down, you can place an Archer of your own in the top left corner (2), drawing any archers that spawned towards it as a distraction. Now look on the opposite side of the map, where you’ll see four monoliths (3). There’s a single piece of wall in the middle of them. Drop four Skeletons Spells and an Invisibility on them, and let the Skeletons do their thing. Stay focused here, dropping Invisibility (you can use all four) to keep them protected until they’ve taken down all four Monoliths.

Send in the main offensive

Go to the opposite side of where you placed the archer and drop the Royal Champion and the Battle Drill (4). Also, add a couple of Sneaky Goblins to take down the Dark Elixirs (one going each way). Once they’re through the first wall and the Goblins have taken out the two Towers, bolster them with the Electro Titan, the Barbarian King, a Sneaky Goblin, and a Skeleton. Your Drill should work its way toward the center of the screen, while the rest take out the Dark Elixir Storage silos.

Place your Archer Queen and Grand Warden outside the bottom half of the right wall about halfway along, south of your battling troops inside and near to where your Goblin was taking out the Dark Elixirs. All this should funnel all your troops down and to the right as they take out the enemy. In the bottom corner, they should now take down the Builder’s Hut. Add a Skeleton Spell, and with all your troops now working as a large group, they’ll start to push up again and towards the left corner. Help them out by dropping your four remaining Skeleton spells on the group of Inferno Towers in the left corner (6).

Taking down the Town Hall

Use the Grand Warden's ability to protect the Skeletons and the Drill. With the Inferno Towers down, add the Headhunter to bolster the Archer Queen. As you turn towards the center, the Drill should now be on the Town Hall. Once it is down, you can use the Archer Queen ability to target the buildings in the final area in the top center of the screen. With its defenses down and all troops deployed, you can let them do their thing as you wait to be awarded your three stars.

Overall, this isn’t easy to pull off, as an errant click or some bad luck with the troop AI can see your plans collapse. But as it’s a fun three-minute challenge, you simply need to dust yourself down and go again. With a Builder’s Potion as your reward for three stars, it’s certainly worth persevering. Good luck!
