How to make a Slime Farm in Core Keeper

Slime time!

In Core Keeper, Slimes are one of the first enemies you encounter, but also a valuable resource thanks to the items they drop. Since Orange Slimes drop not online Slime, but seeds, gemstones, slime figurines, and other items, it can be very good to farm them. But how can you build a slime farm in Core Keeper?

The first step to building a slime farm is finding some Slimes. It shouldn’t be very hard as they’re one of the more common enemies in the game. Slimes spawn in a ring around the initial Dirt biome.

Next choose a spot for your slime farm. It’s best to pick a spot that’s already a slime area, as this will mean less work overall and more consistent spawning. Slimes respawn in areas with Floor Slime once killed.

To make your slime farm, wall off an array where you want your slimes to spawn. Don’t worry about keeping this area un-lit, as slimes spawn in any glow level in Core Keeper. Next surround the perimeter with Floor Slime, giving yourself an area in the middle to farm the slimes from. Two blocks of Floor Slime are best as it gives you more chance for slimes to spawn.

The final step is to just be patient! Slimes spawn slowly, but there doesn’t seem to be a hard cap on the amount that can spawn.

The ultimate goal of slime farming though is automation. Once you’ve hit late-game Core Keeper, you can automate the job of slime farming using conveyor belts. Conveyor belts can be built on top of floor slime, and slimes can be herded into a killing area. This by far the most efficient way to farm slimes.
