Best Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Katana (Ninja) build

Hack and slash with style.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 brings a lot of changes to the game, so it’s only natural you want a better and more powerful katana build than the ones available in previous versions of the game. In this guide, I’ll help you make the best katana build for Cyberpunk 2.0. By the way, I completed the entire game with this build, and by the end, I was an invincible hack-n-dash samurai slashing through enemies!

Cyberpunk 2077 Katana build 2.0

A katana build focuses on spending perks and attribute points to maximize your damage and bonuses with a sword. This build not only gets the most out of your sword, but also your knife, and grants some great health advantages to boot. All of this makes for a proper aggressive build with some room to add other supporting perks.

Best starting stats for Katana Build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

When you are starting fresh in Cyberpunk 2077 with a Katana build, this is how you should distribute your attribute points:

  • Reflexes: 9
  • Intelligence: 3
  • Technical Ability: 3
  • Cool: 3
  • Body: 4

Most of the main perks you will need for a Katana build are in the Reflexes branch, which is why this will be our main focus when starting out. This approach will allow you to have some nice perks to increase your speed and damage with the Katana.

Best endgame stats for Katana Build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

Once you are all leveled up, this is what your character should look like:

  • Intelligence: 3
  • Reflexes: 20
  • Technical Ability: 3
  • Cool: 20
  • Body: 20

If you notice, I have left the Technical Ability and Intelligence trees untouched, and that is mainly because both of these have nothing to do with the katana build. With your extra points, you can either add some cyberware support to your build with the Technical Ability tree or follow the Intelligence path for more Netrunner goodies.

Best perks for leveling your Katana Build to Level 9 in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

To start your Katana build, you have to get the Painkiller perk and move to the Reflexes tree with Slippery and Lead and Steal perks. These perks are great starters for your build because they increase your speed, add a dash, and you get to block and send bullets back with your sword, among other things.

Below are all the different skill trees you have to level up and spend perks in to make the best Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. There are some optional perks you can leave temporarily to focus on the more important perks.

Best perks for leveling the Reflexes tree

This tree is the bread and butter for this katana build. Skills like Lead and Steal, Finisher: Bladerunner, Air Dash, and Slaughterhouse are what make this build tick; they make your sword extremely overpowered via crit damage and bullet deflection bonuses.

Best perks for leveling the Cool tree

The Cool tree is probably my favorite, even if it’s just for supporting the Katana with knives. Once it's set up, when going to a fight you'll want to throw a knife and collect it to make another headshot with additional damage from the Pay it Forward skill.

Best perks for leveling the Body Tree

Lastly, we have the Body tree, which is there to increase your health and health regeneration. On top of that, you have Adrenaline Rush, which gives you more movement speed and additional health regeneration when it's active, making this build practically invincible.

If you are max level, you will be left with some attribute points and perks once you complete this build, which you can spend on whatever you like. If you want some cyberware to support you, you can go with the Technical Ability tree or pick up some hacking abilities with the Intelligence tree.

Best Relic tree skills for Katana Build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

Other than the normal skills, there are relic skills that can greatly improve the performance of your Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.

  • Vulnerability Analysis: This skill allows you to see small circles on enemies that tell you their weaknesses. Hitting those areas has a 100% crit chance and 25% armor penetration, making it a perfect target for your knife throws.
  • Machine Learning: This skill makes Vulnerability Analysis even more powerful by granting up to 5 stacks of a 10% chance to make a new vulnerability appear, on top of 5% increased crit damage.

Best weapons for a Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

The best weapons for a Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 are below. Remember, you can always use other similar weapons you think will work with the build.

  • Satori: This is by far the best Katana in the game, as you can use it to get more crit chance and damage. You can get this bad boy inside Saburo Arasaka's AV during The Heist job.
  • Stinger: A great knife you can throw at enemies to apply poison or get massive headshot damage. In most cases, a headshot from this knife kills an enemy, which makes it great for stealth. You can get this knife by completing the I'll Fly Away side job.

I have left one weapon slot open because this build only needs two weapons to function as intended, so you are free to do what you want with the last slot.

Best Cyberware for Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

There are some pieces of Cyberware that can greatly increase the effectiveness of this build:

  • Micromotor: A great option that increases your crit chance, health item regeneration speed, and melee attack speed, which are core parts of this build. You can get this at most Ripperdocs in town.
  • Heal-On-Kill: Another great piece of cyberware that gives you health for each enemy you kill, which makes you invincible with a lot of enemies. A great place to get this is the Cassius Ryder Ripperdoc.
  • The Militech Apogee Sandevistan: This cyberware helps you slow down the time and creates opportunities for you to finish hordes of enemies faster. You can find it at Bellevue Overwalk in Watson district.
