What can you do with glowing objects in Deathloop?

Harvest!

When you first arrive in your apartment in Deathloop, you may notice a glowing object in the kitchen or somewhere else. Yet you can't interact with it or do anything of the sort with it. So what exactly are they?

Recommended Videos

These glowing objects are called Residuum, and they are a crucial resource of Deathloop. When you first start seeing these glowing objects, you can do nothing with them straight away, but continue playing the game, and you can. They can be anything, from a toaster, a spool of wire, or even a trash can.

You can start interacting with them after you have made your first assassination of one of the Visionary, and not a moment sooner. Upon this killing act, you gain the ability to harvest Residuum. This can be acquired by killing another Visionary or by harvesting these glowing objects throughout the game.

Residuum allows you to enchant your weapons and trinkets with it, so when you die or the day ends, you don't lose anything that has Residuum on it. But everything that has not been infused with Residuum will still be lost.

Don't read further about Residumm or how to acquire it by killing a Visionary because guides will be heavily filled with spoilers.
