How to generate Orbs of Power in Destiny 2

Pick up those orbs, Guardian!

Orbs of Power are those small black orbs that you usually see lying on the ground after you've managed to clear an area full of enemies. You can pick these orbs up just by walking over them, and these orbs grant certain buffs to your character, provided you have the necessary perks equipped. Now that we know what these Orbs of Power are, here's how you get them.

How to get Orbs of Power in Destiny 2

There are a couple of ways in which you can get these Orbs of Power. Here's a complete list:

  • Supers: If you've managed to hit multiple enemies with your super ability, you will end up generating a few Orbs of Power. There should be a small pop-up on the lower left side of your screen, that will tell you how many orbs you've generated.
  • Masterworked Weapons: You will get your hands on a masterworked weapon if you've managed to upgrade it completely. A masterworked weapon can be identified by the golden border around it. Defeating multiple enemies in rapid succession with a masterworked weapon will always generate these Orbs of Power.
  • Mods: There are a few mods that help you generate these Orbs of Power quicker. Mods like the Kinetic Siphon or the Harmonic Siphon mod can be effectively used to generate Orbs of Power. These mods fit into your helmet.

These are the three basic ways in which you can generate these Orbs of Power. Picking up an Orb of Power will bring back a little bit of your super energy. In short, if you have managed to generate a lot of Orbs of Power, you can reduce your super cooldown time quite a lot.

If you've played around with the Void 3.0 builds, you will notice that there's a fragment that grants you the Devour buff the moment you've picked up an Orb of Power. With Devour active, you will regain health for every enemy you kill.

However, you won't be able to pick up any Orbs of Power if your super energy is full. You will need to activate your super and use it up completely before you can pick up these orbs again.
