Destiny 2 Lightfall introduces many new changes and updates to the game. This includes not just story and Crucible content but also new features. One of which is the Commendation system, which may leave you wondering what the Commendation system is in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Commendations in Lightfall, explained

The new Commendation feature in Destiny 2's Lightfall is a way to reach out to other players and engage in the community. This features serves as an icebreaker, offering players Commendations. Commendations are medals or tags you can give players to say thanks or recognize their skills, actions, or contributions during games.

There will be different accommodations that you can earn depending on what mode you play. For example, you may earn the Pacesetter or Saint's Favorite Commendation while playing Trials of Osiris or the Perceptive and Knowledgeable during raids and dungeons.

Bungie intends for Commendations to not only be a way to build relationships between Guardians but also as a way to track player history. As you play, you will gather more and more Commendations, showing your accomplishments and strengths in Destiny 2.
