You can now ‘Pet the Dog’ in Destiny 2 – How to get the Loyal Companion emote

A Guardians best friend.

There is an age-old question when it comes to video games: Can you pet the dog? Before Season 17 of Destiny 2, the answer to that question would have been a disappointing one. Luckily, Season of the Haunted has blessed the game with an emote featuring a canine companion. You can now pet the dog in Destiny 2 as long as you have the Loyal Companion Exotic emote.

How to get the Loyal Companion Exotic emote

The Loyal Companion Exotic emote is only available within the Eververse Store, where it can be purchased for 1,000 Silver or $9.99 USD. It is unfortunate that this emote requires Silver instead of Bright Dust, but that is quite the small price to pay for the opportunity to give a long-overdue pat to a good boy.

There is also a very respectable reason as to why this emote will never be made available to purchase with Bright Dust. It will remain a paid cosmetic as it is a charity item. This means that 100 percent of the proceeds from the emote will be donated to the Bungie Foundation as confirmed by Community Manager Cozmo. So that means that for just 1,000 Silver, you are donating $9.99 to charity while also getting a pettable dog as a secondary reward.

We love to see all of the fun creative emotes that Bungie comes up with for Destiny 2, but when that emote also benefits charity, there is no beating that.
