Diablo 4 – Skipping Cutscenes, Explained

Don't care about the story?

Diablo IV introduces a new story, taking place in the world of Sanctuary once more. Players will journey across various zones and complete different quests. As the story unfolds, cutscenes will tell players about the world and what their characters are going through. However, some players prefer to skip cutscenes but may not know how or can't skip Diablo 4 cutscenes.

How to Skip Cutscenes in Diablo 4

To skip cutscenes, you simply need to press and hold the ESC key on the PC, the Circle button on PlayStation, or the B button on Xbox. If you press the button, it will simply bring up the skip prompt. Holding the button will skip the cutscene. This also works in conversations, allowing you to skip those as well.

Why can't I Skip Cutscenes in Diablo 4?

There appears to be a bug that doesn't allow players to skip cutscenes. Pressing the appropriate button will raise the prompt to skip the cutscene, but you cannot. This is likely due to a bug. Diablo IV is beta, so some bugs are to be expected.

Even holding down the skip button does not solve this issue. You will simply need to be patient and wait for the bug to be fixed, which hopefully will be solved by full release. Until then, you must sit through Diablo IV's cutscenes.
