Flickerstep is a new pair of Unique boots that were added in Diablo 4 Season 2. The boots are a random drop, but there are some ways to maximize your chances of getting a pair for your character.
Where to find Flickerstep in Diablo 4
Like most Uniques in Diablo 4, you're not going to find these boots easily. Flickerstep can only be obtained by playing on World Tier IV in both the Seasonal and Eternal realms. Outside of that, you're going to have to cross your fingers and hope for the best as you'll be relying on a random drop from there.
The boots are included in Uber Duriel's loot table, a new endgame boss added in Season 2. If you're currently farming through the endgame loop in Diablo 4, then it's not a bad idea to fight this returning Diablo 2 boss.
What does Flickerstep do in Diablo 4?
The Flickerstep boots are one of the strongest pairs of boots you'll come across in Diablo 4 so far. They will fit into just about any build, as attacks will lower the cooldown on your evade move. This makes it so you can dodge more attacks, which will, in turn, allow you to stay alive longer and do more damage.
Here's the breakdown of what these boots can do:
- Attacks reduce evade's cooldown by 0.8 seconds
- [5.0-10.0]% damage reduction from close enemies
- + [7.5-12.5]% movement speed
- + [8-14] all stats
- + [22.5 - 37.5]% Ultimate skill damage
- Each enemy you evade through reduces your active Ultimate cooldown by [2.0-4.0] seconds, up to 10 seconds.
What's most appealing about Flickerstep is the fact you'll reduce the cooldown on your Ultimate ability by evading through enemies. It caps at a 10-second reduction, so don't think you're going to be getting 100 percent uptime on your Ultimate with these boots.
Best build for Flickerstep in Diablo 4
With the versatility Flickerstep offers, this is a Unique that every build will benefit from. Builds that prioritize having a high uptime on their Ultimates will see the most gains, however. Rend Barbarians who want to maximize their Guardian of the Ancients ability, for example, will benefit greatly from Flickerstep.
Some other builds that'll work include Pulverize Druids, Infinimist Necromancers, Twisting Blades Rogues, and Ball Lightning Sorcerers. The boots can be equipped by any class, so feel free to throw them on when you come across a pair. Even if you don't use them to synergize with an Ultimate ability, you'll still benefit from the evade cooldown reduction.
