Diablo 2 Resurrected allows you to play the entire campaign with your friends through its multiplayer mode. Unlike its original version that supported both LAN/online versions, players can now only access the co-op mode using the BattleNet Online client. To play the online co-op mode, create a private match inside the game and add your friends to that match.
Before creating a private match, you must add your pals to your friend's list. To do this, follow the steps given below.
- Open your BattleNet client, and after opening, click on the add a friend icon on the top right corner of the screen, as shown in the image below.
- Type in your friend's BattleNet ID along with the tag name. The default BattleNet ID format is XYZ#1234.
- Now, tell your friend to accept your request.

Creating a Private Match in Diablo 2 Resurrected
After adding your friends, the next step is to invite your friends to a private match.
- Open Diablo 2 Resurrected and in the main menu, click on the online options below the play button.
- Now, in the new window, click on the Private Match to join a private session.
- After loading inside, press ESC to open the menu and navigate to the Party option.
- Invite your friends from the list displayed in front of you and start playing.
Remember, Diablo 2 Resurrected does not support cross-platform. So you and your friends must play from the same platform. As of now, the game is available on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
