Your journey in Disney Dreamlight Valley continues in Nature & Nurture, a quest to restore the Pillar of Nurturing in the Sunlit Plateau. You'll be exploring some mines and even another mysterious realm. Read on for a guide on how to complete this quest.
How to start the Nature & Nurture Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Start by investigating the Elephant Graveyard in the Sunlit Plateau Biome. There you'll find Scar. Talk to him. He'll tell you all about how you apparently trapped him there. After a few more lies through this lion's teeth, he gets to the point. The river in the Sunlit Plateau has dried up, and until the water returns, the Pillar of Nurturing will remain broken. Scar instructs you to head to Vitalys Mines to investigate and remove whatever is blocking the river. The Vitalys Mines are at the mouth of the river, just behind and to the west of Goofy's stall.

Once you enter, you'll find that you won't be able to follow the river easily, so head to the left. Around the pillar and to your right is a passage that you'll need to open by destroying the rocks in your way with your pickaxe. There will be a fork immediately in front of you. The path to your left leads to a treasure chest and a dead end. The path on your right will lead to a junction of rails.

You can grab the treasure chest on your right and head through the tunnel in front of you. There'll be another fork with a passage to your left covered in Night Thorns. This path winds around to another treasure chest and a dead end. The path you need to take to get to the river will have purple mushrooms along the walls. You can ignore the next two forks that lead to the right and left and continue straight until you hit this opening.
Go up the ramp on the right side of the screen to read the note next to the red barrel. It's instructions to get the water flowing again, and it sounds like an elementary school science experiment. Head back down the ramp and turn to your right. You'll see the entrance to the mines in the distance. There will also be a chest next to the wooden table with some ingredients and a root beer recipe that you'll need. Break the rock in front of you for an easy way to leave the mines.
Making Extra Fizzy Root Beer in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Go and talk to Merlin, and he'll confirm what you read. You'll need to prepare Extra Fizzy Root Beer first. Make sure to use Dried Ginger from the chest and not regular Ginger from the Forgotten Lands. The Crackling Candies should already be in your inventory. Place them inside the red barrel at the source of the river. Watch the foam do its work and clear the Night Thorns.

When you leave the cave, you'll see an odd apparition appear. Follow it into the portal to find another (gloomier) version of your own castle. Night Thorns will block your path, but you'll be able to pick up an org the apparition left behind. After you've collected it, go back through the portal to return to your own Valley.
Creating the Miracle Growth Elixir in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Show the orb to Merlin. It's the Orb of Nurturing, but it needs.. well, nurturing. Merlin will give you a recipe for Miracle Growth Elixir that requires:
- 10 Vitalys Crystals (found by mining in Vitalys Mine)
- 10 Rich Soil
- 1,000 Dreamlight
Once you've gathered these things, craft the Miracle Growth Elixir at any crafting station. Open your inventory, select the Elixir, then select use to upgrade your watering can. You will need to talk to Merlin again who will explain your next steps.
Go back to the Sunlit Plateau and dig a hole nearby the broken Pillar of Nurturing. It's in the southern part of the Biome nearby the Glade of Trust. Plant the Lifeless Orb just like you would plant a seed, then water it and wait for it to grow. After two days, a tree branch will grow through the Pillar, and it will be restored. Talk to Scar to finish this quest.
