Dragon's Dogma 2 Thief skills and builds Guide

Thief is a character that relies on speed, agility, and devastating critical attacks. Thieves are pretty weak when it comes to taking damage—that's why they need to pair with a class that could tank well and guard them while they flank the opposing force.

In Dragon's Dogma 2, builds are determined by Augment setups and their four active skills. Sometimes, you can pick Augments for other Vocations, such as Warfarer. What follows are the best skills you can use for a Thief and the best builds based on Auguments and skills.

Best Thief Skills in Dragon's Dogma 2

Thief Skills can be divided into two main groups: Core Skills and Weapon Skills. Core Skills are, simply said, all skills that aren't associated with weapon combat.

The best Core Skills for Thief are the following:

  • Bump and Lift - This Skill allows for easy pickpocket, which is great for farming gold and items.
  • Controlled Fall - Reduces fall damage once the Thief gets knocked back and makes him get up quickly.
  • Scarlett Kisses - Deals bigger damage with multiple slashes. Doesn't deplete stamina.

Meanwhile, here are the best Weapon Skills for Thief in Dragon's Dogma 2:

  • Biting Wind - This is a moving attack that deals a lot of damage and can be used repeatedly. This skill is mandatory for Thief.
  • Concussive Step - It's very easy to set up but also not very reliable, depending on the situation.
  • Ensnare - Easy to use, long range, and great against flying enemies.
  • Helm Splitter - Good against bosses and other big enemies due to the ability to hit multiple times.
  • Shadow Cloak - Makes stealth a lot easier, allows you to be invisible but depletes stamina while active.

Best Auguments for Thief in Dragon's Dogma 2

Augments are passive perks you can unlock by building up Vocations. You can equip six augments at the same time, one for each Vocation. We recommend the following Augments for Thief in Dragon's Dogma 2:

  • Avidity - Level up your Archer Vocation to level nine, and you'll be able to climb structures, cliffs, and enemies more efficiently.
  • Endurance - You need Archer Vocation to level four, and it increases the player's maximum Stamina.
  • Exaltation - Upgrade your Mage Vocation to level nine, and this Augment will increase your Stamina recovery.
  • Verve - Get your Thief Vocation to level nine, and this Augment will increase your Strength.
  • Voracity - This one requires the Magick Archer Vocation raised to fourth level. This Augment replenishes a bit of Thief's HP after he lands a killing blow.
  • Zeal - Level your Warfarer Vocation to level six to unlock Zeal, and you'll get reduced Stamina usage when you use your Weapon Skills.
