How to solve Dragon's Dogma 2 Pawns attacking NPCs

The solution that works is to sleep for two days and discard the aggressive Pawn from your crew. Pawns acting aggressively might be associated with bugs, but also one of the Debilitations, called Dragonplague, which makes Pawns aggressive. Other reasons include Pawns adopting the players' behavior of killing NPCs for a better frame rate.

The solution for this unusual situation is relatively simple. All you have to do is to sleep for two days and then swap a Pawn from your squad. That should bring things back to normal. This solution also aligns with the solution for Dragonplague, which requires you to switch Pawns.

Why are my Pawns attacking NPCs in Dragon's Dogma 2?

In the early days of Dragons Dogma 2, players noticed suspicious activity from the Pawns. Namely, the Pawns randomly attacked the NPCs, even those associated with the story and quests. After the main storyline in Vermont, there is a quest that includes an NPC called Kendrick. However, once Kendrick appeared, the Pawns attacked him and killed him, effectively locking the game's progress.

There are several reasons why Pawns are killing NPCs all over the place. The first possible reason is an untreated bug, which is highly likely due to the technical problems the game faces. Another plausible possibility is a Debilitation called Dragonplague, which affects the Pawns only and makes them act weird and violent. You could even hear from one of the Pawns that they are coming back from other dimensions stronger but less stable.

The most interesting take about this occurrence is that Pawns are learning how to behave from their Masters, and many players kill NPCs to increase the game's frame rate. This is the least probable theory but also very fun to think of.
