When purchasing Dredge, you may have noticed an optional addon called the Blackstone Key in the Digital Deluxe Edition. What is the Blackstone Key in Dredge? And is the Digital Deluxe Edition worth it? Here's what you need to know
Is the Dredge Digital Deluxe Edition worth buying?
The Dredge Digital Deluxe Edition includes the following:
- Blackstone Key
- Original Soundtrack (Steam only)
- Digital artbook (Steam only)
Dredge is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $24.99 USD each. The price varies when it comes to the Dredge Digital Deluxe Edition, though, with Steam offering it for almost $10 higher than the other platforms at $35.06 ($26.99 everywhere else), but that does include the OST and digital artbook alongside the Blackstone Key. If you're interested in checking out Dredge, give this a read first; Review: Dredge.
The Blackstone Key DLC includes two items: the Arterial Engine and the Sign of Ruin. The Arterial Engine is an engine for your boat, and the Sign of Ruin increases your Aberration fish encounter rate.
So is the Dredge Digital Deluxe Edition worth it? It's entirely up to you. The Blackstone Key items are not game-breaking by any means, and spending the extra cash on them won't mean you've paid to win. It's just a couple of added bonuses that don't mean much in the grand scheme of the game. If you want to buy it and like to collect digital artbooks and soundtracks, then the Steam version may be for you.
How to use the Blackstone Key in Dredge
Once you buy the Digital Deluxe Edition (or the Blackstone Key separately on Steam for $4.99), you can claim the Arterial Engine and the Sign of Ruin at the Workshop on Blackstone Isle. Click on the Workshop, enter the door, and a menu will pop up where you can drag the items into your ship's cargo.
