How to befriend every character in Dungeons of Hinterberg (All locations)

This list goes over all 16 Dungeons of Hinterberg interactable characters in Dungeons of Hinterberg. Any requirements for friending them, the gifts they like, and the perks they give you will be included with their information.

Albert

Social Stat Requirement: None

Preferred Gifts: Bag of Nuts, History Book, Number Grid Puzzle, Pitzl Hat, Post Card

Albert is a professor studying the magic within Hinterberg who is also responsible for opening the Hinterberg Museum. You can meet him around the world a few times, but in Hinterberg you'll find him at the cafe. His perks all relate to your magical abilities, which fits his character well. Becoming greater friends with him allows you to introduce him more directly to the world of magic, which is exciting to watch. Take him into a dungeon in The Expedition quest and meet with him again to become Buddies.

Alex

Social Stat Requirement: None

Preferred Gifts: No chances to give her gifts.

Alex is one of the first characters to approach you directly, making her one of the easiest to befriend. Since the game naturally puts Alex in interactions with you, there isn't a lot that needs to be done. The hardest level to get to is Besties (level 4), but that will come naturally when you and Alex make up after a fight.

1	Unlocks the Character Compendium, which allows you to see the next relationship perk you can get from befriending certain people.
2	Increases your HP slots by 1 slot.
3	Increase your number of charm slots by three.
4	All of your relationships will now level up faster.

Dani

Social Stat Requirement: None

Preferred Gifts: Bag of Nuts, Cress Seeds, History Book, Organic Potato Chips, Post Card

Dani is the youngest pro Slayer in Hinterberg. You will typically find them relaxing and looking at the lake. In a similar mindset, most of their rewards deal with health and relaxation. To fully upgrade your friendship with them, you'll need to meet them in Hinterwald to complete their I Love the Forest quest. Their final friendship reward is part of a four-piece armor-set obtained by befriending all four pro Slayers in Hinterberg.

Dog

Social Stat Requirement: None

Preferred Gifts: Does not take gifts.

To befriend the dog, you must meet him in front of Hannah's shop and take on the A Furry Pal quest (A1). When you speak with Alex next, she'll tell you that the strawberries can be found near the Ancient Tree dungeon in Hinterwald (A2). Walk or fast travel to that dungeon, then head to the back right corner (A3). You'll see a small ledge with netting in front of it (A4). Use Whirlwind to lift yourself onto the ledge (A5). Afterward, walk across the ledge to find the strawberries glowing on the back portion of it (A6). If you're struggling to find them, the image labeled A7 shows their location on the map. Take these back to Hinterberg and feed them to the dog on your next evening to befriend him.

When you travel to Hinterwald again, follow the signs past the Windmill to the Southern Forest. You'll find the dog sitting next to the Mushroom Islands sign (A8). Interact with him to get him to reveal the dungeon to you (A9). You may also find him roaming around other areas of the forest. Interact with him and he'll dig up chests containing Hinterbucks for you.

Gertrude

Social Stat Requirement: None

Preferred Gifts: Does not take gifts

Befriending Gertrude requires players to find her brooch and complete the Where is it...? quest first. I first saw her in front of the fountain on the day of the Onion Festival. Speaking with her gives you the quest and a pretty accurate location for the brooch, which will glow brightly on the ground by the canals (A1). The image labeled A2 shows the location of this brooch on the map.

Return the Brooch to Gertrude and accept her offer to go to the Inn to become her acquaintance (A3). After this, hang out with her two more times. On the second time, she'll mention that it's her last evening and ask you to spend time with her. Do so to level up the relationship and get her brooch.

Hannah

Social Stat Requirement: None

Preferred Gifts: Cress Seeds, Purple Flower Bouquet, Sunflower, Yellow Flower Bouquet

Alex introduces you to Hannah so that she can teach you about Attack Conduits. Attend the lesson to become acquainted with her. Her next lesson will come about just as easily, bringing you to a level 2 friendship with her. To progress to level 3, you'll need to speak with her to get the Can I Get an Autograph? quest and bring her signatures from Renaud, Sam, and Kai. Her final perk is given after hanging out with her a few more times. She will remain in front of her store, but will not have time to hang out with you.

Henning

Henning is a sculptor who moved into Hinterberg shortly before the Dungeons appeared. You can only speak with him when he is out in his yard. Like Gertrude, your first interaction with him will give you the initial perk. However, you'll have to visit him twice more and complete his Art Supplies quest to get the second.
