In Dying Light 2, players may come across wide-spread areas of chemical coverage. These areas usually fall to the outskirts of the map, so players aren't often forced to enter these areas. While they are avoidable, for the most part, players will naturally still want to explore these areas in search of items and loot.
The only real way to survive Chemical Exposure in these areas is to avoid them. The chemical areas are covered in a thick layer of poisonous sludge and fog that will continuously damage players within it. Players can usually get through small chemical areas by jumping from pieces of debris or other small patches of clean land, but it is not easy to stay in these areas for long.
Later in the game's story, players will have the opportunity to travel into a chemical area during a story mission. During this mission, players will be given items that allow them to withstand the chemical's effects, but this does not last.
