How to upgrade items in Dying Light 2

Here's how to upgrade items in Dying Light 2.

To upgrade items in Dying Light 2, you will need to find a Craft Master and use Infected Trophies (Craft Master Resources) via the Craft Master's upgrade menu.

You can find Craft Masters in all Faction Hubs and various settlements across The City in Dying Light 2. You will need to look for a hammer and wrench icon in these settlements, as shown above.

The icon above shows you where a Craft Master is in the area. That said, when you find the Craft Master, speak to them to open their trading menu. Inside the Craft Master menu, you will then need to find the Upgrade Tab at the top right of your screen, as shown below.

After clicking upgrade, you will be able to upgrade any of the items you currently have a Blueprint for. To upgrade a Blueprint, find it under the item menu on the left of your screen and hover over it.

Hovering over a Blueprint's icon will show you a menu like the one above. In this menu, you will be able to upgrade your item by pressing the upgrade key. However, you only can upgrade your Blueprint if you meet the Upgrade Requirements.

To meet the Upgrade Requirements in Dying Light 2, you will need to gather Trophies from the various special Infected in the game. Biters won't drop Trophies, but the following Infected will drop Trophies.

  • Goons
  • Howlers
  • Spitters
  • Goons
  • Bolters
  • Banshees
  • Chargers
  • Demolishers
  • Volatiles
