Best Spells and Sorceries in Elden Ring

Elden Ring contains several spells and sorceries to find and equip throughout your journey. Here is a list of some of the best spells and sorceries and how to obtain them.

Glinstone Pebble

Glinstone Pebble fires magic projectiles from glintstone. This spell is cheap, with a quick cast time, and can be accessed at the start of the game. This spell is a staple for any Mage build as a cheap, reliable source of damage.

It is the starting spell for the Astrologer class, other classes can access the spell by purchasing it from Sorceress Sellen at the Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave.

Swift Glinstone Shard

Swift Glinstone shard swiftly fires magic projectiles from glintstone. This spell functions very similarly to Glinstone Pebble, however it costs less FP, does slightly less damage but attack animation is much faster. This allows you to spam the spell faster than the Glinstone Pebble.

You can purchase this spell from Sorceress Sellen after you deliver the Academy Scroll to her. The Academy scroll is located at a Graveyard at the south of Liurnia of the Lakes, near the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace.

Rock Sling

Rock Sling summons three rocks from the earth and sends them flying towards the target. This spell does very solid damage if all three rocks hit the target. It also staggers the enemy very regularly for critical follow-up hits.

Rock Sling is found in a chest in a cellar just north of the Street of Sages Ruins, in Caelid.

Carian Slicer

Carian Slicer performs a swift, sweeping slash using a magical sword. This attack acts as a melee attack, however, doing magic damage. This is a great spell for a mage to use in those situations where you need a melee option.

You can purchase this spell from Sorceress Sellen after delivering the Royal House scroll to her. The Royal House scroll is located on top of a broken structure, near Agheel Lake South Site of Grace.

Carian Greatsword

Carian Greatsword performs sweeping slash using magical greatsword. This spell is similar to Carian Slicer, except a much larger sword is created. This spell has great range and is highly effective on horseback.

This spell can be purchased from Miriel, Pastor of Vows at the Church of Vows. It is expensive, costing 10000 Runes.

Loretta's Greatbow

Loretta's Greatbow fires a great arrow from a magic greatbow. This spell has great range and damage potential. It can also be charged by holding R1, causing additional damage.

This spell is obtained by defeating Royal Knight Loretta, in Caria Manor.
