We hope you’re feeling spooky because Final Fantasy XIV is about to launch its Halloween event… In January. All Saints’ Wake, Final Fantasy XIV’s semi-annual creepy-themed event, will launch globally on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2020 at 2am CT.
This year's event is Clown themed and will see you investigate some spooky goings-on related to some creepy clowns. The starter quest is titled All Clown’s Wake and is available in Old Gridania from the Adventurers’ Guild Investigator, located at the coordinates X: 10.4, Y: 8.4.

After completing the quest chain, you’ll have access to receive a series of new and exclusive items. The first is the new Clown outfit. A full set of level 1 glamour armor, it consists of the Clown’s Hat, Clown’s Top, Clown’s Shortgloves, Clown’s Bottoms, and Clown’s Boots. The boots and hat are likely to be highly sought-after glamour items for a while!
Additionally, a new emote is being added by the event, the Clowning Around emote. A pair of stylish pumpkin decorations for your housing interior and exterior are included in the event.
As well as the new gear, certain items from past All Saints' Wake will be available to purchase from the All Saints’ Wake vendor. This NPC will also be in Old Gridania near Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre.
Why is the Halloween event taking place in January? Well, a series of delays have pushed it back, and other events have taken priority. The release of Endwalker initially caused the delay, and with that expansion delayed itself, All Saints' Wake was pushed into January.
This meant it would inevitably clash with both the Christmas-themed Starlight Celebration and the New Year celebration Heavensturn, and was pushed back even further. All Saints’ Wake will run from Jan. 20 until Feb. 2, 2022.
