One of the biggest changes in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker was the disabling of belts. Previously, belts had occupied an item slot on your character, and added stats and attributes to your character. Belts could also be melded with Materia. But as of Endwalker, belts were no longer able to be equipped and didn’t drop from dungeons.
However, if you played FFXIV before the change, you may be wondering where any belts in your possession went after the update. Well fear not, as you can reclaim your belts by visiting the Calamity Salvager in Limsa Lomina, Old Gridania, or Ul’dah.
These NPCs will have an Item Retrieval option. There, you’ll find your belts. They’re no longer equipable but they do have some use.
You can remove any Materia from the belts that you’ve melded, and any belts that have reached Maximum Spirit Bond can have Materia extracted. Belts can be traded to your Grand Company for Company Seals. Some can also be sold for gil. Or they can just be collected for old time's sake.
You should be aware that belts can only be retrieved once. Once you’ve collected them, if you lose them or sell them, there’s no getting them back. But since they’re not a useful item in the game anymore, you don’t have to lose sleep if you misplace them!
