How to unlock the Pinky mount in Final Fantasy XIV

Chase the pink elephant!

In Final Fantasy XIV’s latest update, Patch 6.3, a plethora of new mounts were added, including a big pink elephant called Pinky. The Pinky mount is gaudy and ugly, but we kind of love it. Here’s how to unlock the Pinky mount in Final Fantasy XIV.

The Pinky mount, a big pink elephant, is unlocked by trading three Bottles of Exciting Tonic to Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.6, Y: 10.0). In return, you’ll receive one Pinky Identification Key, which will summon your Pinky mount when activated in your inventory.

Bottles of Exciting Tonic are a rare drop from Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Map treasure chests and The Shifting Gymnasion Agonon dungeon treasure chests. These items are also tradable and can fetch a lot of money on the Market Board.

Speaking of the Market Board, Pinky is a tradable mount, and if you’re flush with cash (gil, even) you might be able to snag Pinky on the Market for several million gil, depending on your server. However, with the steep price, it’s often better to try and unlock the mount yourself!

Why is Pinky a big pink elephant?

The Pinky mount is one of the more unusual and bizarre-looking mounts we’ve seen in Final Fantasy XIV. So why has Square Enix added a giant pink elephant to the game? Pinky might be an allusion to pink elephants, which is old slang for hallucinations. So maybe Pinky is meant to be a hallucination!
