The Rising, Final Fantasy XIV’s annual celebration of the release of A Realm Reborn, will return on Aug. 27. The event, which is usually a somber remembrance of the characters that have passed, coupled with a celebration of the future, will return right at the close of the Moonfire Faire.
The event was announced on Aug. 19, coupled with the release of the 6.2 preliminary patch notes. As with previous events, The Rising 2022 will see you meet with the Wandering Minstrel, an in-game persona linked with Naoki Yoshida, the game’s director.

But the biggest attraction of the event is the new Clockwork Solus minion. This minion, obtained from completing the event, gives you a miniaturized version of the classic Shadowbringers villain, Emet Selch, complete with a pouting face! Additionally, some items that were available during previous iterations of the event will be obtainable via the Rising Vendor during the event.
The Rising event is one of the most melancholic events in Final Fantasy XIV, combining the nostalgia of your previous adventures with fireworks and messages from the game’s director himself. You can kick off your Rising experience on Aug. 27 by heading to X: 10.1, Y: 8.4, in Ul’dah - The Steps of Nald, and speaking to the Wandering Minstrel.
