As you travel around the biomes and collect resources, you will want to keep your inventory nicely organized to maximize your space and make it easier to see what you have collected. Here's how!
How to organize your inventory and storage in LEGO Fortnite
If you're a bit OCD like me or just want to make things a bit easier to keep track of, then you'll want to organize your inventory and storage in the best way possible. There are a few steps to doing that, and those steps are figuring out what to keep in your quickbar, what to keep in your inventory, and what to put away in storage. Here's a look at how I organize everything below!
Quickbar
Your quickbar is one of the most essential parts to keep organized since these are items you will be able to use the fastest and will help you out in dangerous situations. There are only four types of items I would suggest keeping in your quickbar at all times: weapons, equipment, tools, and food.
- Slot 1: Weapon
- Slot 2: Secondary Weapon
- Slot 3: Tool
- Slot 4: Tool
- Slot 5: Food (The best food for the biome you're in, e.g. Spicy Peppers for the Frostlands)
- Offhand: Equipment (Shield or Torch)
The order in which you put these items is not too important, just as long as you have all of them. However, I find it easier to place a weapon in the first slot since I usually keep it out when wandering around if I run into enemies. And food in the last slot, since you can switch over to this from either a tool or the sword for restoring health or hunger.

Inventory
Your inventory may seem a lot harder to organize, especially since it gets quickly cluttered as you pick up more resources around the world, but here are some tips on how to sort it to give you some peace of mind. A big part of keeping your inventory organized is remembering that you can stack the same item up to 30 times.
Although you will need to open your inventory and sort the stuff as you pick them up, I find it easier to put items in a row vertically to better keep track of them. Here's how you can organize them:
- Row 1: Equipment and Ammo
- Row 2: Tools and Weapons
- Row 3: Food
- Row 4: Resources (Rocks)
- Row 5: Resources (Wood)
- Row 6: Resources (Plants and Animals)
First and foremost, always make room in your inventory for backup tools and weapons. Since these items break, you'll want more available, especially if you're far away from a Crafting Bench. The same goes for food. You'll always want more than one type of food. Then, make space for plenty of resources. I would never suggest keeping processed resources in your inventory. They will take up space when they are really only needed for crafting and upgrades. Always keep them stashed in a chest for when you need them.
If one of your resource rows fills up, with 30 items in each slot, it's time to think about putting some items away in storage and making more space for new items.
Storage
Even with your inventory and quickbar nice and organized, you're still bound to run out of space. Once this happens, it's time to think about crafting some chests and storing your extra items. You can make a simple chest storage with six wooden planks, or something even bigger through the Build menu if you have other resources.
Since wood is such an accessible resource to farm, I would suggest making as many chests as possible so that you can keep your storage nice and organized as well. Ideally, you'll have a separate chest for each different type of item.
Once one of your inventory rows fills up, you can place your stacks in their own separate chest, e.g. all wood in one chest, all rocks in one chest, etc. It's up to you if you want to keep processed resources with your raw resources, but I would suggest keeping those separate as well, but ensuring you keep the chests beside or close to each other. (If you want to go an extra petty step, you can organize the items in the chest by rarity as well.)
There's no right or wrong way to organize your items in LEGO Fortnite, but keeping things clearly stored together will make it much easier for you to figure out what you have and don't have and ensure you have some extra space to collect more items as you explore.
