Fortnite Season 4 Week 9 Challenges – Cheat Sheet & Release Time!

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Fortnitemares has arrived, and with it comes a whole lot of weird stuff going on in the game! All Battle Royale modes are Fortnitemares based, which means if you get eliminated, you will turn into a ghost and can land back on the map and torment the living players. You don't have a whole lot of health, but you can still creep around and get a Nightmare Royale victory. While this is going on, you're going to still have a batch of challenges to work through, so let's take a look at what is going on with those.

It looks like this week we will be heading to Holly Hedges for chests, getting eliminations in Slurpy Swamp, collecting rings at Steamy Stacks, dancing at the highest and lowest spot on the map, finishing strong after landing at Sharky Shell, healing teammates with a Bandage Bazooka, and knocking back opponents with Shockwave Grenades!

Challenge Release Time

The Season 4 week 9 challenges will release on October 22nd, 2020 at 6am PT. This is the same time that XP coins are added to the map, so you will be able to find those as well if you're searching for them. You cannot complete these challenges prior to that time. The only reason we know what they are early is because they are leaked prior to the release.

Challenges Guide

First, we're going to need to head to Holly Hedges and get some chests. There should be quite a few available, but as always you should head into Team Rumble to get them more easily. Holly Hedges is located on the very western side of the map. Credit goes to Fortnite.gg for the map featured below.

It's a bit odd to see Floating Rings again at Steamy Stacks, because there was this exact challenge in the previous season. The rings are a bit harder to find this time, because they aren't floating in the air. You can find all of them in the video below:

The highest location on the map is at the top of the mountain that is directly south of Catty Corner. It's a landmark locations known as Mount Kay. Either glide over there from the party bus, or grab a helicopter and make your way to the top. As for the lowest, you will want to head over to Coral Castle and go beneath the large building the middle. There's a pool of water there, where you can get to the edge of and dance at that should count towards the challenge.

If you aren't sure where Sharky Shell is located, then you will need to head to the northwest portion of the map. It's directly north of Coral Castle and was the former shark headed cave area that was on the map in the second season of Chapter 2 of Fortnite.

As for healing teammates with the Bandage Bazooka, the main difficulty with this will be finding one. You can usually locate them in more rare chests, like in a vault or supply chest. You might just get lucky and run into one on the ground. If you're in Team Rumble, you can just chase around teammates and lob bandages at them. This would be easier in squads, because you could all take turns using it to get credit for the quest. Either sit in the storm, or jump off a reasonably sized ramp to take a bit of damage!

The same really goes for Shockwave Grenades, you will just need to locate some and launch them at your opponents. Team Rumble will make this a whole lot easier to do, because even if you get eliminated, you can try again without losing your loot.
