How to Blobify in Fortnite

Blobify your life.

Online survival hit Fortnite may have been around for five years, but its clever reinventions have kept it near the top of the most-played charts. Whether you prefer the PVE co-op, battle royale PVP, or sandbox mode, there’s still a lot to love. Season 4 introduced a new substance, chrome, to the party. And with it, the chance to become a chrome blob. Below we’ll talk about how to blobify in Fortnite.

What does a Chrome Splash do in Fortnite?

There are two ways to blobify yourself in Fortnite, both of which involve chroming yourself first. To do that, you can either run through a chrome tornado or find a Chrome Splash item. You’ll often find a Chrome Splash in chrome chests, while you can also mine a Chrome Splash from a chrome-covered tree with a pickaxe. Once you have one, use it at your own feet (like a grenade) to cover yourself in chrome, which is what will happen if you run through a chrome tornado. This will work on other players too. Once covered, simply sprint to blobify yourself into a chrome blob.

Becoming a chrome blob certainly has its uses and obvious limitations. You are faster than usual and can dash through the air, making it a great way to escape from enemies. And there’s no fall damage, making cliffs a viable escape method. And speed can also be useful as an ambush technique, allowing you to approach an enemy at speed and from an unexpected location. It also allows you to phase through walls, leaving a chrome mess in your wake.
