How to use the Cow Catcher Mod in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

Hint: it's not to catch a cow!

The Cow Catcher Mod is a very nifty item that you can use in multiple different ways during a match. It's usually found in red toolboxes or around gas stations and car shops. It can be deployed on the ground as a barricade of protection or attached to your vehicle to turn it into a deadly weapon. Despite its silly name, you probably won't be catching any cows with it, but you may just catch that 'W' with a Victory Royale. Here's how you can use this Mod.

Equip the Mod

After looting the Mod, the first thing you want to do to utilize this tool makes sure you have it equipped. You can do this either by pressing over to it in your quick slot inventory or opening your inventory menu and selecting it that way. Once it's equipped, you should be able to see your character holding it in their hand.

Aim and Throw at Specified Spot

If you'd like to use the Mod as a barricade rather than placing it onto a vehicle, you have to find the spot you'd like to put it and throw it down. To throw the Cow Catcher, you need to aim at the area you'd like it to deploy by holding down the left trigger on your console controller or the M2 button on your PC mouse. As you're aiming, press the firing button, right trigger or M1, to launch the Cow Catcher to that spot.

When the Cow Catcher Mod is thrown down onto a spot, it will deploy as this wall barricade. This creates the perfect place to duck for cover from oncoming fire and hide from enemy squads. You won't be able to move the wall once it's down, so make sure you throw it exactly where you want it.

Attaching the Mod

Aim and Throw at a Vehicle

If you'd like to attach the Mod to your ride, you have to aim the throw directly at the specified vehicle with the same controls as before, left trigger or M2. Again to throw, you will press M1 or right trigger. The Cow Catcher will launch at the vehicle and automatically attach. You should hear the mechanical sound.

Plow through the Competition

When the Cow Catcher is attached to a vehicle, it simultaneously works as a shield and a plow-like weapon. It will allow you to deal extra damage to enemies you run into and to drive straight through buildings and other obstacles in your path. It also makes it a lot harder for enemies to damage the vehicle from the front and more challenging for them to get a shot at you.
