Genshin Impact Fayz Trials Hypothesis event guide

Use a special potion to stop time.

The Genshin Impact Fayz Trials: Hypothesis event runs from June 21, 2023, to July 3, 2023, reuniting Travelers with the academically-challenged researcher named Jami. Similar to the first rendition of this event, you can participate in a series of combat challenges with the help of Fayz Potions to quickly get rid of enemies.

How to unlock the Fayz Trials Hypothesis event in Genshin Impact

To unlock this event, you must complete the following prerequisites:

  • Reach Adventure Rank 20 or above
  • Complete the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III - Song of the Dragon and Freedom

Once you've done the above, you'll automatically get the Event Quest called Experiment Phase: Uncontrolled Parameters, which will take you to Liyue to speak with Jami. Doing so will unlock the Fayz Experiment Facility, an Event Domain where you can participate in seven combat challenges that unlock every day.

Interact with the Event Domain to access the combat challenges. Each challenge will include a full team of Trial Characters with predetermined stats. You can't change the teams, so this is a great opportunity to try the provided setup.

Each stage will also have unique Supersense Skill Effects, which indicate the bonus you'll get for triggering the Fayz Potion during battle.

Your goal is to defeat as many enemies as possible to accumulate points. As you defeat opponents, you'll collect Fayz Tinctures, which will fill up the Potion at the bottom of the screen. Once it's full, click the corresponding button to trigger the Fayz Potion.

Doing so will enter Time Dilation mode, where enemies stay frozen in place. During this period, you can adjust the camera angle to include as many enemies within the frame as possible. Orbs will appear around enemies to indicate their Weakness. Click on the E button to trigger the Supersense Skill Effect, which will count all Weaknesses within the camera frame.

All enemies affected by Weakness will be attacked with the Supersense Skill Effect. If you collect eight or more Weaknesses, a buffed Supersense Skill will trigger instead.

You only need to spot seven Weaknesses in one use of a Fayz Potion to get the Primogem reward for each challenge, which you can claim via the event menu. Here are some tips to help you collect more Weaknesses:

  • I find it helpful to bring enemies together so that they aren't far apart.
  • I find that it's best to run away as far from the enemies as possible before triggering Fayz Potion so that your field of view is wider, allowing you to fit more into a single frame.
  • Don't forget to zoom out the camera angle to fit more enemies inside the frame.
