Genshin Impact: How To Save

A guide on how to save within Genshin Impact.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Genshin Impact, the new action-RPG from developer miYoHo, is available on multiple platforms, PC, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS. It has over 5 million confirmed downloads already, but many people are asking how to save in the world of Genshin Impact?

It's actually pretty easy, as the game has an autosave feature; nevertheless, this also means that you cannot save manually, via quicksaving or from the main menu. And because you cannot save, this also means that you can't load. Your autosave data is stored within the game servers. Anytime you exit the game and play it again, you will instantly load where you left.

As the autosave is based on your login details, your save is kept safe no matter where you play. Want to play over at a friend's house, you can do it. Go off on holiday and fancy playing it, no worries you can!

However, as the game constantly updates your character information and stores it, this might pose a problem for those looking to reroll your characters. Yet for those of you that want to play casually and for entirely fun and the adventure, then autosaving won't be a problem for you at all. Log off, and when you want to log back in, you'll be in the exact same spot as you always have been.

A helpful tip, though, the best way to use this autosave mechanic is to quit the game before any major encounters occur, as when you get drawn into the game's story, you might not be able to leave for a while.

As the game offers such a vibrant open world, with ruins and large cities to explore, no doubt you'll be too enthralled to want to log off anytime soon, but there are also some quiet places to admire the view and log off in peace.
