Windtrace is an event that plays out like a prop hunt game. Some Genshin Impact players instantly bond with the game's mechanics, while others have trouble getting both rolls down. Whether you are a hunter or a rebel, you have to know how to use Windward Arts if you want to win.
There are three different moves that the rebels and hunters can use in a match to try and outmaneuver each other. Once you know how to use both sets of moves, winning a game becomes a lot easier and a lot more fun.
Hunter
Your objective is to capture the three rebels using the move you supplied. Try to start the game by using a mysterious hunch, as this will show you the direction of the rebels. Most rebels will disguise themselves as objects on the field, so make your way around the map using capture.

When possible, deploy Sensor Aura to verify that there are rebels nearby. While using these moves, be sure to look for movement, many rebels will try to sneak by you when you start to get too close to their position.
Finally, you have your elemental burst:
- Imprisoning Curse: Will reveal and restain a rebel, you can use mysterious hunch to help you find them when the burst is used.
- Insight: Removes everyone's disguises and marks them with a pillar of blue light.
- Hunter's Insight: Will remove a rebel's disguise and mark them on your mini-map.
Which burst you want to use is up to you and your playstyle, but Insight is always a great choice.
Rebel
As a Rebel, your job is to hide from the hunter and avoid capture. You can choose to use lay bait, which places a false disguise that will blind the hunter, or you can choose invisible, which turns you invisible for a short period of time. Disguise lets you change into pre-selected objects to hide in plain sight, and Starstep will up your movement speed.
Using a Disguise doesn't always work well, and most seasoned hunters will check all objects on the field, no matter how nicely placed they are. You can really want to make use of all your talents to swiftly move around the hunter.
Starstep allows you to outrun them, invisible lets you disappear from the stage, and disguise allows you to blend into the background in case they look back. Lay bait, on the other hand, is only good if you want to play an aggressive game with the hunter.
Try to hide in places where you can easily watch the hunter's movement while having several ways to escape if they spot you.
