How to get Transient Resin and what does it do in Genshin Impact?

Transient Resin - a cure for impatience.

Resin is a massive mechanic in Genshin Impact, as spending it allows you to collect rewards after killing a weekly boss or clearing a domain, but your supplies are limited. Resin will refill over time, but it's a slow process that often turns farming for resources into a long endeavor. As a way to speed things up a bit, Transient Resin has arrived.

What is Transient Resin and what does it do?

Transient Resin is a type of Resin added in the Genshin Impact 1.5 beta. This Resin can be used to replenish 60 Original Resin, but only once per Transient Resin. It must be used quickly, as once acquired, it will disappear after an allotted period of time.

The allotted time that it will dissipate is as follows. Transient Resin has a seven-day lifespan, but the seven-day period starts from the Monday after this item is obtained. Basically, players have seven days plus additional days depending on what day of the week the Resin was purchased the week before.

If the Transient Resin is bought on a Monday, players will have two weeks before it expires. Each day after will minus one day from the total- if purchased on a Sunday, players will only have eight days total to use it.

Each Transient Resin is counted independently, so their expiration dates will all be different. They will not all expire at once if you miss one usage from the three you have in your inventory.

Here is the full in-game item description:

Pure energy that will dissipate with time. In this, it is similar to all else that is lovely in this world. But seize this opportunity and go make the world a slightly better place, as is fitting for one who dwells within the bounds of "time".

How to get Transient Resin

Transient Resin is only purchasable from the Realm Depot, and only once you have reached Trust Rank Six. The Realm Depot can be accessed by speaking with the NPC Tubby inside of the Serenitea Pot. Only one Transient Resin can be purchased per a week, and it will cost players a hefty 1200 Realm Currency to pick up.

This new Realm Depot is a shop released alongside the Serenitea Pot in the Genshin Impact 1.5 patch. This interdimensional space allows players to build a base and decorate it, while the Realm Depot is where blueprints can be bought to create various buildings and pieces of furniture.

Realm Currency is accrued automatically according to your Adeptal Energy Rank. This what you will be spending to obtain the plethora of goodies the Realm Depot has to offer. A player's Trust Rank will increase each time a piece of furniture is created, while the Adeptal Energy Rank will increase as more furnishings are placed inside the Serenitea Pot.

At the lowest Adeptal Rank, Bare-Bones, it will take about 12.5 days to reach 1200 Realm Currency. It will only take just under 2 days at the highest Adeptal Rank, Fit for a King.

Transient Resin doesn't solve every problem related to Resin in Genshin Impact, but it certainly is a helpful tool for players to use. So save up that Realm Currency, then go out and dominate those domains!
