There are many things to do in Genshin Impact, from gathering materials to indulging in lore by completing the various quests. The Spiral Abyss is no different and is an ever-changing challenge that gives out rich rewards. If you've never taken the time to really play through it, though, then you likely don't understand how the Abyss works.
What is the Spiral Abyss
The Spiral Abyss is located on Musk Reef, an island in Mondstadt that can be reached by gliding from Galesong Hill. The Abyss will open up once you reach Adventure Rank 20, and each area allows you to choose buffs before starting your fight. On some floors, you will even need to have two teams of four to participate.
The Abyss is broken into two major parts:
- Abyss Corrodor: Eight un-changing floors that must be completed to unlock the Abyssal Moon Spire.
- Abyssal Moon Spire: A set of four floors that changes twice each month.
Both parts of the Abyss offer several different floors where you are tasked with building a team to quickly take down hordes of enemies during back-to-back fights without the use of food or items.
The Abyssal Moon Spire occasionally introduces will new enemies not found in the overworld and gives you an opportunity to earn primogems during each change. The challenges are where the game's meta listings are made, and players often make their judgments on the effectiveness of new units.
