Liyue is a lore-filled region that you shouldn't skip exploring if you love Genshin Impact. The Yaksha, in particular are deeply connected to the lore of Genshin Impact and are often referenced during lantern rite. It also looks like a future character may be one of the Yaksha.
The Yaksha are warriors who fought for Zhongli during the Archon War and later wiped out demons across from Liyue. They each had visions, but due to their blood-soaked actions, they are constantly fighting with a darkness called karma. Karma is what leads to a Yaksha either dying or turning on their friends.

Xiao almost lost the fight with his karma but was saved by Venti's flute in his last moments. Currently, there are only two Yaksha remaining, one being Xiao and the other being a Yaksha that ran away. None of the Adeptus seem to know about the missing Yaksha, and if Zhongli has information on him, he isn't revealing it.
It should also be noted that, unlike the Adepti, like Ganyu, the Yaksha are much more prone to phasing out and seem not to be gods. The Yaksha are also smaller in numbers and don't seem to have ever had children.
It does seem like the missing Yaksha may be a future playable character. If he appears, it will likely be during a future year's lantern rite celebration.
