It's hard to believe the Gotham Knights would kill Batman. Batman is as beloved as Superman, and it would be weird to imagine a world without him. Still, Gotham Knights developers WB Games Montreal seem to be promoting the narrative that he is.
Batman dies in Gotham Knights
It's incredibly hard to believe, and most fans think it's a hoax, but the Gotham Knights Twitter keeps repeating that Batman is dead. At this point, Batman is definitely dead. Patrick Redding, the creative director met with Gamespot to end the debate, going so far as to say, "he's dead dead," and "he's dead from the start of the game."

Redding and producer Fleur Marty also met with IGN and stated that Batman's death was a big reason for a change from Arkham. Redding said they could kill off Batman by telling a new story, away from the Arkham games.
The Arkham series did something similar, but most fans don't even believe it since it was a part of Batman's Knightfall plan. With Gotham Knights taking place outside of the Arkham series, the developers were free to do whatever they wanted. Using this method, you can end a character's life without arguments.
