Is Gotham Knights a sequel to Arkham Knight?

Batman connection.

Gotham Knights is a game set in the Batman universe, where you can play as one of his successors. It's very similar to the Arkham series, which probably makes you wonder if the Gotham Knights game is a sequel to Arkham Knight. It's an excellent question, as both games share many mechanics, especially the combat part. Also, you can't help but wonder if Robin, Batwoman, Nightwing, and Red Hood are somehow connected to the Batman from Arkham games.

Is Gotham Knights part of the Arkham series

Gotham Knight is not a sequel to Arkham Knight, nor is it part of the Arkham series. It is connected to the Batman story and is somehow a spiritual successor to that legendary game series. That's mainly because developers of the GK have also worked on Batman: Arkham Origins, a part of the Arkham series.

If you're a fan of those Batman games, especially Gotham Knight, you'll feel at home with Gotham Knights, as this is also a third-person action game with a very similar fighting system. That puts the GK game as a true spiritual successor of the Arkham series. It even goes further as new Knighthood characters have distinct fighting styles.

Apart from game mechanics, the game's atmosphere is very Batman-like, which means Gotham Knights lean heavily on World's Greatest Detective, although he's not part of the game. So, if you're looking for that Arkham experience, you should give Gotham Knights a shot.
