Granblue Fantasy Relink Walkthrough Guide
There are 12 chapters in the main story. The game starts with the Prologue and continues into ten chapters until the conclusion. There is also a secret Chapter 0, which ties some loose ends from the main story but is also very challenging.
Prologue: The Forgotten Sky
In the beginning, the crew is returning home after an adventure when a group of Wyverns attacks them. This part of the story is for the new players to learn the basic gameplay mechanics. Talk with your crewmates, defeat the Wyverns, and hold your ground against the Proto Bahamut. The Prologue ends dramatically with the Captain falling from the airship.
Chapter 1: The Western Frontier
The Captain wakes up in a Sundappled Grove forest after a strange dream. Now it's up to you to find Lyria and get out of the forest. Just follow the markers until you reach Timber Wolves. While fighting him, you will learn some gameplay mechanics about Skills. Use your skill to defeat Timber Wolves and continue toward Lyria. To reunite with Lyria, you have to beat the Boss called Quackadile. This fight will teach you about Link Attacks, and you can use them when you stun the Quackadile.
After rescuing Lyria, head toward the port town of Folca. While exploring the city, you will discover some interesting people. Blacksmith will sell weapons and improve your gear and Sigils, while Sierokarte's Knickknack Shack will serve as a merchant in this game. To advance the story, speak with everyone from your crew, and then go in front of the church. There, you'll see all your crewmates and meet a new ally, Rolan. Go to the Docks to embark on a new mission.
Chapter 2: Tempest on the Horizon
The second chapter leads the crew to Tempeal Island, where unusual wins make goblins aggressive. Your task is to save the villages from the goblin's attacks. In the first part of the mission, you have to find villagers who were captured by goblins and set them free. Follow the markers to see all the captured villagers and defeat the goblins. By talking with villagers, you will find out some of them were kidnapped and taken into the goblin fortress. Go there, beat some goblin goons, and face the goblin chief Greatshield Madbeat.
This is the first giant Boss with a massive shield, so keep attacking from sides and back. When you take around half of their hit points, Bosses are put in the Overdrive mode, which gives them more damage but also makes them stunned when sponging too much damage from your crew. After defeating the goblin chief, other goblins scattered around. Lyria says the crew must find Primal Beast, which caused the winds that made goblins mad.
Chapter 3: Creation of the Stars
The third chapter puts the crew on the task of stopping the Primal Beast's rampage. Travel to the mines in the Tempeal area, and the Primal Beast will attack your ship, making you dive into the mines. Find your way out while being constantly attacked, and you'll see the altar in the eye of the storm.
There, you will face the Primal Beast Furycane. After you defeat the Furycane, a new group of enemies appears. You cannot win the fight against them, and they overpower you, taking Lyria away. The crewmates decide to go after The Church of Avia and save Lyria.
Chapter 4: Skies Forever Blue
This chapter begins at Folica. Talk with every crewmate and get ready to fly. The entire mission takes place in the airspace over Leautagne and revolves around the battle between our crew and the Avia airships. This battle has multiple phases. In the first phase, you have to fight Avia forces on your deck.
Phase two consists of your crewmates destroying Avia airships with Ether Canon. After the Ether Canon is destroyed, your crew jumps on Avia's ships and destroys the energy cores. The final phase of this chapter is fighting one of the generals in Avia's army, Gallanza. You'll also meet a mysterious sorceress who's another of Avia's generals.
Chapter 5: Shadows in the Snowscape
This chapter starts at Mt. Neigelith, in Leautagne, where you are trying to find Rolan's friend, the priestess Historiath. You can find her in the Monastery deep within the icy mountain. You can go further by breaking the ice walls with your strikes. The first boss you will encounter is Nazarbonju. After defeating him, go through Snowquilt Ravine to the monastery. You'll find Historiath there.
Historiath will help you go to the Tredame Sanctum, but you will have to protect her while she's opening the doors with her incantations. Upon arriving at the sanctum, you will have two bosses to defeat, Id and Managarmr. Defeating two of them will activate the cast scene that will end on the ship. Speak with Rackam to end the chapter.
Chapter 6: In Search of Hope
The crew finds out there's Catalyst, an item that can help break the spell over Lyria. To find it, they need to ask the information broker in Seedhollow, Zathba, for help. To reach Zathba, our heroes have to do a lot of favors for various people in the Seedhollow. After collecting information for Zathba, he agrees to take you to Dahl Island.
There, you will have to unlock the seals that hide the Catalyst. Each seal has a boss you have to defeat. Those bosses are Rock Golem, Gerassene, and Griffin. After you open all the seals, the chest in the central ruins will appear. However, to retrieve it, you have to fight the sorceress you met in the previous chapter, Maglielle. After defeating her, the enormous Boss Excavallion is next. Excavallion is really tough, and it takes a lot to beat him, but defeating him ends this chapter.
Chapter 7: Warning Signs
After the crew obtains the Catalyst, they find out Lyria is imprisoned in Phondam by a Primal Beast called Vulcan Bolla. Id, one of the swordsmen who captured Lyria, offers a temporary alliance. The crew goes to the volcanic area and finds Vulcan Bolla. This is the toughest Boss battle so far, and it takes the majority of this chapter. Vulcan Bolla has three phases, and each one is unlocked after dealing substantial damage.
With Id's help, Vulcan Bolla is defeated, but there's another boss, Lilith, the leader of the Church of Avia. You cannot beat her this time, and she imprisons you instead of killing you. You get saved by Rolan, who turns out to be related to Lilith. After a short fight on the deck, speak with Rackam to return to Seedhollow.
Chapter 8: Relink
The crew returns to Seedhollow, which is in disarray because of the Avia. Captain and his companions prepare to storm the Seedhollow Castle. The first phase of this chapter is going deeper into the castle and fighting Avia's forces. The first boss you will encounter is Tayu'itar, the Avian battle machine. He's weak against Dark, so use Dark element crewmates. After you defeat him, you'll see there are two more Tayu'itars, so you will have to use the one you just defeated against the other two.
Heading deeper into the castle, you will find two Avian generals, Gallanza and Maglielle. After you defeat them, the crew leaves them alive and proceeds further to confront Lilith and Id. Lilith convinces Id to fight against the Captain, which he does. Id is very tough to beat, and when you do it, Lilith will summon Angra Mainyu, a Primal Beast that controls space. The fierce battle ends when Captain and Lyria summon Bahamut to fight Angra Mainyu. Lilith reveals her plans to open the gate to the Astral Realm and leaves for the Pillars of Vayoi. The crew finally returns to the Castle, which ends this chapter.
Chapter 9: Opposing Wills
In the beginning, you talk with Zathba and Historiath, and they help you with your gear and weapons. Speak with the Airship Engineer, and you will board the Airship. Speak with Rackam for some loot and head for the pillar with Lilith on top. While ascending to the top of the pillar, you will have to defeat the enhanced versions of Primal Beasts from previous chapters.
There are three of them: Furycane Nihilla, Managarmr Nihilla, and Vulkan Bolla Nihilla. Even after you defeat them, it's not over because there's also Angra Mainyu next to Lilith. Defeating Angra Mainyu finally thwarts Lilith's plans, and we get a dramatic cutscene that completes this chapter.
Final Chapter: Id
The crew decides to rescue Id and prepares to battle Bahamut. Speak to Rackam to engage on the mission. The Grandcypher approaches the mighty dragon, and the battle ensues. You have to fight Id and Bahamut Versa, an incarnate of destruction who traveled from the Astral dimension.
Lyria takes over Bahamut Versa, and Captain fights with Id. You have to destroy three crystals surrounding Id, or else his energy will be restored whenever you defeat him. Id regains control and destroys Bahamut Versa, which concludes the final chapter and ends the main story. However, in the following cutscene, Rolan gets lost in the Astral Plane.
Chapter 0: Skybound Heart
The crew returns to Folca and thinks about what to do next. You have unlocked fast travel so that you can go to Rolan's church. There, speak to Id, and he'll tell you about his plan to rescue Rolan. The Caring Man appears, so speak to him too. The crew decides to replace Rolan in his daily tasks. Prior to this phase, Id joins your party, and you finish eight of Rolan's unfinished missions.
After finishing all Rolan's missions, go to the Dock and speak with Id to initiate Rolan's rescue. Id uses his powers to open the portal with Lyria's help. The crew explores the Astral dimension and finds Bahamut Versa Omega. The climactic fight includes Lyria, who summoned Proto Bahamut, Id, using his powers to protect the crew, and Rolan, coming back to intervene. Upon defeating the final Boss, the crew escapes the Astral dimension. Rolan is back in Folca; everything is fine with the world again,and the game ends on a high note.
